 I was unable to find the slide I wanted from the summer of 1981. On July 4th Barrow did their annual polar bear swim in the Arctic Ocean (can't do it on New Year's Day, the traditional Polar Bear Club swim day) and my fiancee, Cindy, and another of our crew took the plunge into the water, swimming out between a couple of icebergs! But I couldn't find the picture of them in the water. I don't remember exactly when this shot was taken calendar wise but think it was near the end of our stay there. No alcoholic beverages are sold in Barrow, so our crew had to import a few cases of Olympia beer for a crew party. I was most definitely suffering from bad hair on that day!
