![]() I am not really in the mood to go out and shoot pictures today (and must go in to the office for a while later) so I did some scanning of prints from one of the old family albums. This is a companion shot to one I posted many months ago here showing me at the beach with my first 'girlfriend.' When I scanned this image I was particularly taken with the high-key elements of the shot that make the human subjects seem to lift off the image. I am trying to find a time to get away for a long weekend and spend some time at a beach. I will probably wait until after Labor Day and do it sometime during September. This was taken at the Jersey Shore in the 1950's. I imagine that place does not even resemble my memories, so best to stay away from there. Someone was describing Montauk out at the end of Long Island to me the other day and that sounds good, but I really don't care much for traveling out onto the Island. I am leaning towards Cape Cod, or maybe Martha's Vineyard. I guess I should begin to plan for the trip soon or it simply will get lost in the demands of work.
