![]() I grew up a Baltimore Orioles fan. This stemmed from three reasons. My mother's side of the family was located in Baltimore, so we were there quite regularly; our local radio station broadcast the games so I listened to the games; and my friend Steve was an Orioles fan! Here we were, enjoying our time together at a game, this one pitting the Orioles (1963?) against the Detroit Tigers. The game went to something like 15 innings, and I am pretty sure it was won by Detroit. But, I got my one and only Major League baseball when a foul ball came our way. I also recall that the Detroit Pitcher, named Hank Aguire, got his first or second career base hit during this game. The latter I recall because Hank Aguire played for many years and had the worst batting record in the Major Leagues. Funny the details our minds choose to remember.
