 One of my oldest and dearest friends, Doug, relaxing with an early morning cup of coffee before hitting the road for work. Doug and I worked together while graduate students at the University of Virginia and again on other major projects in western Virginia and New Jersey. This picture was taken in about 1980 or so when I had driven to take care of the business with the Park Service and Doug was kind enough to put me up for a few days. I recall that this place was alongside a babbling mountain stream that was great for lulling you to sleep at night. Doug is, to this day, a practicing Professional Archaeologist, now located in Pennsylvania.
