Yep, that is indeed a TYPEWRITER


But hey, it was 'electric' and it used 'cartridge ribbons!' I wrote many of my early archaeological reports and my Master's Thesis on that very typewriter. This was taken by my Father in my office at the University of Virginia shortly before I left for Egypt. I have tried to recall what all those books were (just the tip of the iceberg, as the wall behind my Father was a bookshelf filled with all manner of books) and why they were so important that I needed them at my fingertips. I was teaching introductory anthropology at the time, so some of the books were from that class.
