![]() One of the nicest things about the years I spent working in the Blue Ridge was the easy-going work schedule. We were graduate students performing this work on a part time basis for practically no money so we often spent chunks of time relaxing at some of the special places we found. This was one of my favorites. The stream ran along a flat rock surface that was covered in a layer of about an inch or more of moss. Lying in the stream, the moss conformed to your body and the water rushed over you massaging sore muscles after a day of hiking the steep hills. I have often wondered if I could even find this place again if I had the chance. It is not easily accessible as I recall, not on any established trail. But I really would love to see it again, if only to see if it was really as nice as I remember. Taken July 1976.
