![]() On my first day on the road, I got an early start. I slipped down the NYS Thruway as far as Kingston, then took the cutoff route 209 southwest towards Port Jervis. Crossed over into Pennsylvania and down the western side of the Delaware River. I stopped for a short hike into Dingman's Falls. It was still very early, maybe around 8 am when I took the hike. The early morning mist was just beginning to burn off and the walk in the woods was quite surreal -- in part because I had the trail entirely to myself and it was clearly designed for hordes of tourists. In many ways the sunlight playing through the woods was a bigger thrill than the falls themself. Addendum Tuesday Morning During my morning stroll through my list of favorite photoblogs I found these pics at A Walk Through Durham Township. I swear it was not planned!! And my forest is not all that far from Durham Township either. Strange coincidence! | |
