![]() Personally, I find these urban statues to be a little strange. A few years ago, downtown Albany had a number of bronze statues of "regular" people doing "regular" things. It was strange to be walking along the street and there was some statue of a man reading the paper or a kid playing ball. A few months ago, this statue appeared in one of downtown Albany's little pocket parks. This is an homage to ex-Mayor Whalen. But how are we supposed to deal with this art? Am I supposed to pat his dog on the head? Or sit next to the Mayor on the bench and tell him whats wrong (or right) with the city? | |
