Boudoir #1

Yesterday's workshop on Vintage French Boudoir Photography was fun. We had two models and only six photographers so there was not the usual pressure of photographers crowded around shooting pictures in quick succession. This session was much more about creating the scene, building the sets, and then spending a few minutes shooting. Later we moved on the processing where we got some interesting hints on making the products appear as vintage photos, much like the French Boudoir postcards of years ago.

My goals for the workshop were twofold. I had a particular scene I wanted to create and I wanted to be more conscious of the details of my shots. I succeeded in my first goal, but unfortunately still fell flat on details. I have many acceptable photos from the shoot, but it still pisses me off that I miss little details that ultimately flaw the final product.

Please treat today's image as a 'First Draft.' I wanted to get something out from the shoot quickly, so I have run through some of the ideas from the workshop, but I know this image is rough, particularly in the way I 'aged' it.

Hope not to bore my audience but I think I may use some of these shots to illustrate some different approaches to working with this type of image.
