![]() I don't believe that since I started forgingahead nearly five years ago that I have ever persisted on a single theme for so long. I had grown so tired of the old subjects, that I really needed a drastic change of pace. I like this new material a lot. It it fun to shoot (though very stressful in a lot of ways), enjoyable to work with on the computer, and I love the results. This is where my photographic mind is right now. It won't stay here though. I can feel the draw of warmer weather coming in a month or so that will take me back outside to explore again. I anticipate the two worlds will combine in some exterior figure work. And I still want to explore the the underwater world with my little camera. I am happy to see that traffic has returned to forgingahead. It was like people were just waiting for me to find my feet again. Yesterday I had wonderful comments from three of my oldest (hmmm, that may not sound right), longest? photoblogging friends, who I have not been following as closely as I should. So I will once again begin to roam the photoblogs and leave my mark as I used to. Right now, I am struggling with photo editing software. I have moved to my new computer for everything but photo editing. I am taking my time both for reasons of cost and for reasons of organization. I learned the hard way that the foundation you lay in the early days must be scalable. I did ok with Lightroom as my primary organizing tool and will return to that hopefully this weekend. But that will require some work transferring files from the old box and realigning the catalogs and collections. Right now my oldest material from 2004-2008 is archived on two separate drives, one an external and the other an internal drive on the old box. I have the space on the new box to reintegrate the files into a common location, but wonder if that's necessary. There is good reason for keeping the files on their current drives and thereby keep the hundreds of GB's they would require free on the new TB drive.. Ah well, I ramble and probably way too much info for most of my readers. | |
