![]() This was taken from the 7th floor of a rocket test stand at Stennis Space Center in Mississippi. The one I was on was much like the one to the right in the picture and is used for testing the engines on the Space Shuttle. The one to the left is a new stand being built now for testing the high altitude rockets planed for the Ares program that is currently scheduled to replace the Shuttle by 2011. I was down there for a series of meetings related to a system my company is developing to improve the safety of handling hydrogen used as a fuel for these high tech engines. | |
