New View of Cohoes Falls
EXIF: SONY DSLR-A700 | 1/160 sec | f 16.0 | 85.0mm (35mm equivalent: 127.0mm) | ISO 100

For those of you in the Albany vicinity, the City of Cohoes has reopened the new Cohoes Fall Overlook. New this year is a steep staircase and path leading to a much lower viewing point than was available last summer when the overlook first opened. I missed the high water flows from spring, but maybe we will get some big rainfalls this summer that will increase the discharge.

One flaw with this new area is the need to protect the public from themselves. The entire area is surrounded with fences topped with barbed wire making most views of the falls kind of unattractive. I understand the need, but wish it had been addressed in more aesthetically pleasing manner.

The saga of my winter I spent in Barrow Alaska in the Summer of 1981 continues over at Scanning My Life. Hope you will enjoy that little sojourn into the past.
