 The new overlook at the Cohoes Falls opened this past week. I stopped by early yesterday morning for a look. It is a huge improvement over the past overlook but it seems to be missing at least one of the features that had been advertised in the planning phase...a cantilevered platform extending out over the gorge blow the falls. The have put tall chain link fences with barbed wire tops around the entire facility to keep idiots from falling into the gorge...but also drastically taking away from the visual beauty of the views. There is only a short span where you can see the falls with a fence right in your line of vision. | |
