Bollard at Canal Lock
EXIF: SONY DSLR-A700 | 1/500 sec | f 6.3 | 300.0mm (35mm equivalent: 450.0mm) | ISO 200

Well, I will be away for a few days. I've not built a sizable backlog of images for posting, so forgingahead is going to be on break until next Monday. Off for a few days in Denver for a conference. I'm taking the cameras along and hope to find at least some time to get outside and see what's up in the Mile High City.

Someone linked an old archived shot (from December 2005!) from forgingahead on StumbleUpon today and I have been barraged by visitors for the first time in over a year. I'd say hello and ask you to stay for awhile to see what I come up with...but alas, like most traffic generated by StumbleUpon, the visitors seldom branch out from the one picture they come into, most often hitting the Stumble button and on they go. Talk about 'slam, bam...!' Sheesh! (At 9 pm Tuesday, 121 visitors today compared to my average of about 25 per day; usual average is 3 pages per hit, today it is only a hair over 1 page per hit.)

BTW, the DOF in the image is real. I have NOT employed the old Fake DOF technique I was so thrilled with a few years ago. When I posted the image and looked at it, it sort of looked like Fake DOF...but it's not!
