![]() Taken last Sunday during the annual Victorian Stroll in Troy. This event ushers in the Christmas season with lots of music and street activity. There was a group of wandering carolers who would stop periodically and entertain. The two men in the foreground were among the many Troy residents dressed in Victorian costumes. Most people probably have forgotten all about my 'WOW Awards.' I have not awarded one since August and the one before that was many months older. I began doing the WOW Awards about two years ago to recognize my personal favorites among the hundreds of daily blogs I visited in those days. I simply do not have the time to spend visiting blogs and commenting like I used to. So usually when I make the decision to give an award now there is something about that blog and post that have struck a particularly hot button for me. Today, as I reviewed my daily blog roll something about Walter's shot pulled me in. Well, it was the lengthy text that went with what appeared to be a rather simple photograph. So rather than just passing by, I clicked into That...was my foot and read the story that went with the picture recognition. And what a story it is!! The more I thought about it the more it struck me. I feel some of the angst that accompanies having done things in my past that I regret very much. The message of forgiveness Walter tells really hit me hard and seems such a very appropriate -- though certainly not traditional -- Christmas tale. Enjoy! ![]() | |
