Window at the Candy Factory
EXIF: KONICA MINOLTA MAXXUM 5D | 1/100 sec | f 5.6 | 50.0mm (35mm equivalent: 75.0mm) | ISO 100

Most of the windows in the old Brach's Candy Factory were removed or smashed to smithereens. I found this one that seems to have survived a direct assault...but for how long?

You may notice that I added a trademark symbol to my blog title. A friend and fellow blogger had a site name that was used by at least one other blogger, and I suspect many others as the name is a pretty commonly used phrase in photography. While she has had her site in that name for more than 2 years, this other blogger successfully registered the name as his trademark and has 'demanded' her to stop using the name.

This made me realize just how much I have begun to identify with my nom de plume. In many ways, 'forgingahead' expresses so much about myself: who I am, where I have been, and hopefully, where I am going, that the thought of someone pulling it from under me is quite disturbing. So I take the 'poor man's' approach to trademark protection and have become 'forgingahead&trade' -- not a solid protection, but I have been using this name for 23 months today and certainly hope to keep using it.
