Cold Day in the Yard
EXIF: KONICA MINOLTA MAXXUM 5D | 1/400 sec | f 8.0 | 60.0mm (35mm equivalent: 90.0mm) | ISO 100

Late afternoon in a busy rail yard the day after last week's big snow storm...traffic doesn't stop for the weather here. This is one of the largest 'classification yards' on the east coast. Here trains are disassembled and reassembled to get the cars to their correct destination. These engines, or 'power' as known in the railroad vernacular, are waiting their turn to pull a train out of the yard.
