Flying Away for a Break
EXIF: KONICA MINOLTA MAXXUM 5D | 1/1250 sec | f 5.6 | 60.0mm (35mm equivalent: 90.0mm) | ISO 800

One final picture from that day I took my younger son up for an Introduction to Flying lesson.

Funny, but yesterday I made a comment to a friend that I was looking forward to getting my 'sight back.' He thought I meant my 'photographic eye,' but then realized I was referring to my impending cataract surgery. But the reality is, the two are integrally tied together. For the past few months, as my eyesight seems to worsen daily, my ability to 'see' photographically has also diminished.

I suppose regular visitors have tired of my whining about my eyes and how I am relying on archives. Must be, because my daily visitors have dwindled to a level I have not seen since Forgingahead was new and unknown (only about 20 visitors today, a year ago today I had nearly 200!).

Because I am unable to maintain a regular flow of imagery, Forgingahead is taking a break. I wish you all a very very Happy New Year! I am not planning to be gone for long, but at least until I have an opportunity to create something new and interesting. That may be next week. Or it may be in March after my eyesight has been restored.

I will continue to post new material over at Scanning My Life because I can still look at slides and photo albums, and scanning does not require me to do more than click the mouse a few times.

See ya' soon.
