![]() 'So I simply tossed it down the hill behind the house!' On both sides of the trail I walked yesterday the hillsides were strewn with the detritus of peoples' lives. Most was simple stuff like rusted out pails, bed springs, old building debris...but some was amazing like this huge Barcalounger chair. What possesses people to just toss there crap out like this is beyond my comprehension. But I suppose as an archaeologist I should not be surprised. If not for this tendency to toss what we no longer need, what would we know from archaeology? What can we learn from the stuff people have tossed down these hills? Ever since I started the WOW Award back in December, I have wondered how best to make the winners available to anyone who wants to see all of them. I had a blog set up on Bloglines but I found it too tedious to keep it current. So over the weekend I tagged all previous WOW Award winners in my DEL.ICIO.US site and now you can access it at http://del.icio.us/forgingahead/WOW-Award. Please let me know if I missed any of the previous awards. | |
