Twin Bridges #2
EXIF: KONICA MINOLTA MAXXUM 5D | 1/30 sec | f 22.0 | 50.0mm (35mm equivalent: 75.0mm) | ISO 200

Thanks to all for the comments on yesterday's shot of the 'Twin Bridges' as they are well known to residents of the New York Capital Region. I shot a bunch the other day while I was at this location, so you get a two-fer!

A couple of people asked about access for taking pics of this bridge. Off course it is easy to shoot from a car or a boat, but to get a nice shot is a bit tough. It took me a while to find the access road that runs beneath the bridge and out to a series of 5-acre 'estates' along the river. From the southern end of the bridge, this is as close as you can get...well it is pretty close as you could tell from yesterday's picture. From the northern end it is a lot more difficult. I have my eye on a couple of approaches but one requires driving up a long dead end roadway and others have told me the folks up there are unfriendly to photographers (you would really need to use some private access to get close enough too). I went up there one day and got some pretty nasty looks for just being there. The other may be possible, but I have yet to work out the detail of the access point and need to time it right for the light.
