Ok, ok! Not technically a good picture at all. But I could not resist the picture of this old abandoned hotel. The name is not as suggestive as implied by my need to post it, because this old hotel is located in the heart of old Troy, New York. Thus the name... too bad, eh?

I forgot to reset my ISO for this shot and it was totally blown by noise. I ran it through Neat Image which helped the noise, but I lost all detail in the brickwork.

This is a popular site for pictures. While I was there another fellow came along and took pictures as well. According to him, the old place, which had been up for auction a month or so ago, is slated for demolition. Don't know if that is true or not. But it may be. I wonder what will happen to the sign?

WOW Award

Like most of us, I have admired Diane Varner's work at Daily Walk for a long time. As most of you are aware, her part of the northern California Coast experienced a major storm on January 1. Diane and her husband braved the nearly impossible conditions to get down and observe the storm first hand. Diane has posted a couple of pictures of the storm, but this one, entitled 'Exhilarating Start' gave me that special WOW experience!
