This has become a major pet peeve of mine... politician's names emblazoned on public facilities. In this case, the Mayor of Albany had his name placed along the outer edge of a large circular compass embedded in the sidewalk in front of the amphitheater from the other day.

But this goes way beyond this obvious example. Look at even the simplest of signs that have the Governor's name or the town supervisor's name. Many of these signs must be replaced when the next person is elected. Seems a terrible waste of money to stroke an ego.
